Y’all it looks like Governor Newsom of California has caved to pressure.

He stated yesterday that some businesses would be allowed to open in California as early as Friday.

The stipulation is that these businesses will have to adhere to social distancing and cleaning protocols.

Governor Newsom is claiming that he is not caving to pressure, but rather the data is telling him to re-open.

The LA Times reports:

“We are entering into the next phase this week,” Newsom said at his Monday news conference to provide an update on the state’s response.

“This is a very positive sign, and it’s happened only for one reason: The data says it can happen.”

These patriots put the right amount of pressure on Governor Newsom, and he caved.

According to the Daily Mail, the governor laid out what a phase 2 reopening will look like. In this phase, you can expect to see what the governor called “low-risk” retail operations such as bookstores, florists, sporting good stores, etc.

However, these shops will not be allowed to open to the general public right away. The governor’s plan will allow these businesses to open, but most will not be allowed to have the public inside and must stick to curbside pickup.

Can I quickly say something about the curbside pickup? I love it. I love it so much I want to marry it.

When everything opens back up, I pray that these businesses continue their practice of curbside pickup.

They now have the procedures, and there has always been a demand. This mom of four would really like not to have to drag all four kids into a shop for one thing. Give us our liberty back, and now that includes curbside pickup.

Both reports (Daily Mail and LA Times) brought up Gavin Newsom’s approval ratings.

Daily Mail:

“Despite vocal opposition to the restrictions in some parts of the state, a recent poll from UC Berkeley found that 70 percent of Californians approve of Newsom’s handling of the coronavirus crisis.

The poll also showed that 70 percent of Californians are more concerned about reopening too early than too late. “

LA Times:

“Despite the vocal opposition in some parts of the state, recent polls show that the vast majority of Californians approve of how the governor is handling the coronavirus crisis and are more concerned about reopening too early than too late.”

Take one look at what institution gathered the data, UC Berkley. I know a lot of UC Berkley Alums, and they are all sheep. The real Californians don’t live around UC Berkley. Trust me when I say that the patriots in the videos above are not in the 70% approval category.

Newsom would have gathered a lot of respect from the Republicans living in his state if, instead of claiming he didn’t cave to pressure, he looked directly into the camera and said, “I heard you, and I reexamined the timeline. Thank you.” He didn’t, and we know why. He wanted to save face.

All California business owners should be thanking the patriots who took to the beaches and streets; these people saved their businesses.
