Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) rocked the Senate Monday with her purple hair.
Sinema cast her vote with a bright green dress and purple hair.
When I first saw it, I’m going to be honest, I did not hate it. In fact, I kind of liked it. If any of the Senators can pull it off, it’s Sinema.

Then, NPR reported that it was a wig.

Sinema’s office didn’t return NPR’s request for comment, but her staff told a local reporter that the $12.99 wig was simply meant to “set an example of social distancing from hair salons.”
That’s disappointing. It wasn’t a fashion statement, but virtue signaling. Still, Sinema is one of the more tolerable Democrats. She at least marches somewhat to the beat of her own drum. Remember she ticked off some lefties earlier this year by standing and applauding during President Trump’s State of the Union.
The Arizona Mirror has reported on Sinema’s independence:
U.S. Sen. KYRsten Sinema has broken with her party on more votes than nearly every other U.S. senator so far this year.
The Arizona freshman Democrat, who won a historic election last fall in part by appealing to centrist and Republican voters, has maintained her independent streak since assuming her Senate seat in January.
She’s voted against Democrats 27.5% of the time so far this Congress, according to a ProPublica database. That puts her at No. 2 on the list of senators who break with their party most frequently, behind Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia.
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess some of the stuffy old Senators did not like this stunt in their deliberative, esteemed body. Oh well!
