Bernie Sanders has finally dropped out of the Democratic primary race. America will never have a President Sanders (thank God). This is thrilling information to me, if only because it means I can write about something other than coronavirus today. Woot woot!
At Bernie’s age, this is effectively the end of his presidential candidate life. And Joe Biden is now officially the unofficial nominee of the Democratic party.

Bernie Sanders has suspended his Democratic presidential campaign — all but handing the nomination to former Vice President Joe Biden.
According to a brief campaign statement, He announced the decision during an all-staff conference call Wednesday.
He will address supporters shortly before noon during a livestream.
The Vermont senator has suffered a string of major primary defeats in his second straight presidential bid, but until now had refused to back out of the race, instead pressing Biden to embrace progressive policy positions.
But Biden has amassed a near-insurmountable delegate lead, following decisive victories on Super Tuesday as well as subsequent contests — before coronavirus measures forced most primaries on the calendar to be delayed.
At least we will not have to listen to Bernie, once again, ask for our financial support.
Although Joe Biden is a cognitive train wreck, it is good news for America that Bernie Sanders will not be the nominee of the Democratic party. Having an avowed socialist, who is really a communist, as a candidate for one of the two major parties would have truly been a disaster for our country. Plus, we would have had to live with daily fear, between now and November. We would wonder, what if, just what if he actually won? Scary thought.
So, thank you Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg and Tom Steyer for dropping out, under pressure and promises I’m sure, prior to Super Tuesday. Thank you for paving the way for Bernie to lose.
The big question now is, how will the Bernie Bros react? Will they get on board, support Joe and show up to vote in November?
