A 42-year-old Florida woman shot a burglar who broke into her home through a front window. Video surveillance shows the break-in and you can hear the subsequent commotion and gun shot.
A quick Google search reveals that this story is not being reported by the mainstream national media. This does not fit their “guns are bad” and “homeowners kill themselves with guns” narrative.
“Oh my God, don’t shoot!” Roberts could be heard yelling at the homeowner as she yelled several warnings at him to leave while on a 911 call, the paper said.
“I don’t want to shoot him, but I’m going to have to!” the homeowner was heard hollering to a dispatcher, according to the News-Journal. “Get out of my window! Get out of my window!”
The woman fired one shot and hit Roberts in the arm, after which she then escaped to the back yard with her three children and three of their friends, the paper said.
Why did the man repeatedly ignore the woman’s warning? She did have a gun after all.
Fox6Now sheds some light on the situation. It appears the man was high on bad marijuana.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood said during a press conference that the mother gave White several verbal warnings to leave. When he didn’t, she opened fire.
When deputies arrived, the sheriff said they found Roberts in the house — and he had quite an interesting story.
“He told us that the dinosaurs were chasing him and he thought he got some bad weed,” said Chitwood.
White was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford with injuries not believed to be life-threatening after he was shot in the forearm.
“He’s lucky she was a bad shot,” said Chitwood.
Chitwood said they were seeking an enhanced penalty for committing a burglary during a national emergency.
“I guess the only explanation is watch where you’re buying your weed at during this time,” said Chitwood.
Three lessons to be learned here.
And that is your crazy “Florida man” story for the day.
