In the latest news coming out of “we-don’t-really-care-ville,” Bill Weld finally dropped out of the Republican Presidential race.
Who is Bill Weld, anyway? Did you know he was running against Trump? It is our job to know these unimportant facts. We live in a democracy, and I am happy to allow Bill Weld his moment in the ring. I want to know did he honestly think he had a chance against Trump?
“Bill Weld, the former Massachusetts governor who challenged President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, is suspending his campaign,” Market Watch reported.
“Weld in a statement cited what he called the ‘damage that has been done to our social fabric during the past three years’ and that he is not ‘suspending my commitment to our nation and to the democratic institutions that set us apart,'” the report added.
Weld focused much of his criticism at Trump’s stance on the issues of climate change and the budget deficit. Proving once again that Republicans realized that these last four years were significant building years for our country. The Democrats slashed everything but entitlements leaving many of our primary industries and military branches in states of bare-bones operations. Trump had to spend a lot of money getting our military in fighting shape. It makes me physically sick to see the state of our national debt, but I have more faith in Trump at the helm of this bloated ship than anyone else.
