Sanctuary NYC Secretly Exports Their Homeless To A Street Corner Near You

How generous of DeBlasio and Cuomo, they’re such liberal heroes, you guys. The two “Big Apple comrades” know how to model things to accommodate their open borders sanctuary city, (very likely passed on from Bloomberg’s modeling, and primarily directed by team Obama.)

The “comrade model” is leaving liberal fingerprints of collateral damage (as Pelosi would put it) in every corner of the country. These liberals are providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants while quietly pushing their homeless population to the side. Why? Is it because they need to make room for their open borders politicking? Is it ultimately, so they can get more PC votes from empathetic love-focused-liberals who support open borders?

Okay, the entire mental health discussion as it relates to homelessness is significant and requires a separate post to discuss that topic alone.  Trump’s recent suggestion to bring back a stable mental health system, one that would help homeless communities everywhere, is part of that discussion.  But let’s take a moment and talk about compassion and empathy and helping our neighbors and giving others a hand up.

Helping others is essential and the right thing to do. But we are entering the holiday season, and we are now learning that NYC is pushing their homeless communities into other states, our states. So whatever progress we’ve been making with our local homeless communities, let’s now be prepared to take on an even more significant burden of local need. Consider it a De Blasio handout and let that sink in.

It’s true that the busing of the homeless is a story that has been shared in the past, but it’s hitting another news cycle this week, at a time when timing is everything.

Is it legal to export homeless citizens?  Remember how the Dems freaked out when Trump suggested that we bus illegal citizens from the southern border to their cities of sanctuary? Oh, the irony.

From the tropical shores of Honolulu and Puerto Rico, to the badlands of Utah and backwaters of Louisiana, the Big Apple has sent local homeless families to 373 cities across the country with a full year of rent in their pockets as part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Special One-Time Assistance Program.” (SOTA) Usually, the receiving city knows nothing about it.

City taxpayers have spent $89 million on rent alone since the program’s August 2017 inception to export 5,074 homeless families — 12,482 individuals — to places as close as Newark and as far as the South Pacific, according to Department of Homeless Services data obtained by The Post. Families who once lived in city shelters decamped to 32 states and Puerto Rico.

The city also paid travel expenses, through a separate taxpayer-funded program called Project Reconnect, but would not divulge how much it spent. A Friday flight to Honolulu for four people would cost about $1,400. A bus ticket to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the same family, would cost $800.

DHS defends the stratospheric costs, saying it actually saves the city on shelter funding — which amounts to about $41,000 annually per family, as compared to the average yearly rent of $17,563 to house families elsewhere.

Multiple outside agencies and organizations have opened investigations into SOTA.

New York City is offering to pay homeless citizens a year’s worth of rent if they leave town. Eventually, the longer-term burden of sustaining services and resources is wiped clean from the hands of NYC and passed on to the state in which each homeless person or family lands for their final destination.

Why on earth do they do this? And how long have they been doing it? Again, I must ask: does it amount to the CPM (price per thousand) for open borders liberal votes? Is it an effort to sell a brand of compassion? Does it convince more young liberal comrades to move into the city? If NYC cannot afford to accommodate their current homeless population, how exactly are they paying for free healthcare for all illegal citizens?

It’s an alarming situation, one that walks a very thin line. Compassion for our homeless communities is essential and tantamount to a civil American culture and society, especially so when considering how much help is needed for our homeless and disabled Veterans.

Every state has homeless communities, and every state needs to be responsible for their communities as such. What’s most alarming is that all of this has become a political tool for the Dems to leverage and sell the need for open borders — all while pushing their homeless citizens out-of-the-way.

It’s a perfect example of how Pelosi and team don’t care about “collateral damage.” They only care about winning the vote. How compassionate and progressive.
