Ted Lieu and his ilk were CELEBRATING yesterday when they thought they finally had the “gotcha” moment they were looking for from the Mueller hearings.
Lieu: “The reason you did not indict Donald Trump… is because of the OLC decision. Is that correct?”
Mueller: “That is correct.”

Brilliant Questionning and analysis from Lieu ππΌππΌππΌππΌ

Yeeeah. Not really.
OUCH. Democrats were circulating Mueller’s exchange with Ted Lieu on the OLC opinion as one of their big talking points.
Mueller just blew it up in this hearing. “That is not the correct way to say it.” #MuellerHearing

NARRATIVE: OVER!
Ted Lieu even retweeted his “big moment” replayed on the cable news that Mueller just walked back. Sad! pic.twitter.com/3lYB2roU7e

He COMPLETELY walked that back:
Mueller adding a correction to his testimony this morning…
“I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, ‘you didnβt charge the president because of the OLC opinion.’ That is not the correct way to say it.” pic.twitter.com/H0iUJ03nyi

Mueller clarifies his response to @tedlieu in the Judiciary hearing, that he βdid not charge the president because of the OLC opinionββ βThat is not the correct way to say it,β Mueller said. βWe did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.β

Mueller explicitly backs away from his comment to Rep. @tedlieu that Trump would have been indicted but for the OLC opinion. Mueller says that that is not quite correct, and he reverts to his standard phrasing that he did not reach a view on that. An important backtrack.

This IMPORTANT BACKTRACK, however, didn’t keep Jerry Nadler from lying through his teeth about the hearing’s findings:
“President Trump went through great lengths to obstruct the special counsel’s investigation,” Rep. Jerry Nadler says.
βOnly the Office of Legal Counselβs opinion that you cannot indict a sitting president is saving the president from indictment” https://t.co/Ez5AGbmRrg pic.twitter.com/BAkjlWHcSK

ARE YOU KIDDING ME, NADLER?!
What a lying sack of GARBAGE.
PS: note that Pelosi is on screen for most of the speech, then starts doing that teeth-sucking thing she does, then walks out of the camera shot. Did she have to adjust her dentures in the back? We’ll never know.
