Police Ask Residents To Refrain From Shooting Tornadoes

WATCH: Scholar says the climate change movement has lost its importance

On Monday night, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Kansas’ Douglas County.

NWS has issued a Tornado Watch for Douglas County until 01:00 AM #KSWX 5/6 @ 05:13 PM

Apparently, some residents don’t take warnings seriously, and I have to say…I get it to an extent.

I’m from Florida– the land of hurricanes. We don’t really freak out over them. We exercise caution and stock up on water and throw hurricane parties. It’s not that we don’t take it seriously. We’re just used to it. If that’s how Douglas County residents roll, I can relate to that. (Although I should note that I’m terrified of tornadoes.)

ANYWAY. The police issued this warning:

Some people read this as “deck sitting in a lawn chair with a bottle of whiskey season.”

Those without a death wish read it as “take necessary safety precautions for the possibility of severe weather.”
