Bill Maher’s levels of Trump Derangement really know no bounds.
The once liberal-but-smart HBO host has turned into a bumbling pile of spineless mush over the last few years. He is entirely consumed by his hatred for Trump.
Every single week the guy goes on about how he’s CONVINCED Trump won’t leave the White House if he’s voted out. Even the majority of his very liberal guests kinda side-eye him when he goes on the same rant about this over and over again.
So why is he such a pathetic loser now?
Because he got OWNED. He’s admitting it himself.
The HBO “Real Time” host told his audience Friday that the main mission of the president and Republicans is “owning the libs,” and admitted they had succeeded
Ok…I laughed.
“I remember after the midterms, there was a lot of euphoria,” Maher told his panel, referring to the excitement Democrats felt after they retook the House in the 2018 midterm elections, as they would supposedly now have “subpoena power” in the new Congress.
“Apparently not,” Maher declared as he opened up a discussion with his guests about Attorney General William Barr who refused to appear at a scheduled House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday.
“It’s all about ‘owning the libs,’” he explained. “You know, that’s what they are out for, ‘owning the libs.’”
Actually, we’re out to Make America Great.
Owning the libs is just a fun little consequence of it.
But yeah. He’s “owned.”
“And I’ll tell you something – I feel owned now. You have succeeded,”Maher announced. “This week, when [Barr] said, ‘You know what, I’m subpoenaed before Congress? F— you, I’m not showing up.’ You’re right. And we can’t do anything about it. I am owned.”
The best part? He doesn’t see it getting any better for them.
When Maher noted the 21 Democrats now in the running for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination, his guests corrected him to say there may soon be 22 candidates as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is reportedly planning announce he will be joining the race next week.
“Oh, for f— sake,” Maher responded. “It’s not even a horse race. It’s the running of the bulls at this point.”
“My point is, all you 22 people who are running, you’re asking what can you do to get my vote? Make me not feel owned,” Maher said. “Who’s going to make me feel, ‘Oh, I’m not going to be owned in two years.’”
Don’t hold your breath, buddy.
The conversation then spun out into how Oprah should run. She’s all they’ve got.
“She doesn’t scare a lot of people who otherwise would be scared, she’s much more popular than Hillary [Clinton], she could certainly get the African-American vote to come out,” Maher said as one of his panelists reminded him the television mega-star is no t running.
“But I’m just telling you, she could win,” he replied.
Sure, maybe.
But she’s not running.
So the best you’ve got is Creepy Uncle Joe.
Good luck with that.
