Jussie Smollett staged his own hate crime attack, used it to manufacture an anti-Trump narrative and got off easy because he has high profile connections. *the Obamas cough cough*
That’s the essence of the true Jussie Smollett story in one sentence.
The entire case is infuriating. You know it’s bad if Chicago’s liberal Mayor Rahm Emanuel is ticked.

He’s entirely guilty. But he did 18 hours of community service for Jesse Jackson, and that was enough to wipe clean 16 felony charges. He also let them keep $10,000 of his $100,000 bond.
Whoop-de-doo.
Can you imagine getting off from 16 felony counts for doing 18 hours of community service that your PR person probably suggested you do? That’s basically what happened here.
Yep. We know he’s threatening to sue, and it gets worse. Smollett’s lawyers are continuing to double down. They’re now saying that the police treatment and everything afterward was “worse” than his fake beating. I am not making this up.
His attorney Tina Glandian appeared on Today and let this gem fly out of her face: “He at this point again has been victimized much more by what’s happened afterwards than what happened that night.”

Are. You. Kidding me?! Police treated him as a victim right up until his lies were exposed. He brought all of this upon himself. He staged the attack and lied about it. What were we supposed to do? Go along with his lie and pat him on the back for doing so? The nerve. What a weasel.
And that’s being generous.
