Alisyn Camerota Tries To Pretend CNN ALWAYS Had Their Doubts About Smollett HATE HOAX

Ashley (Kimber)

As it becomes UNQUESTIONABLY CLEAR that “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett’s hate crime was a COMPLETE HOAX, the MSM is scrambling to save some face.

It’s baaaad, folks. So bad, CNN’s Alisyn Camerota it resorting to PRETENDING CNN was “skeptical” the entire time.

According to Daily Wire:

Over at CNN, anchor Alisyn Camerota says the bosses at her network were skeptical of Smollett’s story from the start, noting that she was “surprised” to see how many people enthusiastically believed him.

“I remember in the hours right after this happened that CNN, that our bosses were advising to pump the brakes a little bit because there were things already that didn’t add up,” Camerota told Brian Stelter, according to The Blaze. “I was frankly surprised how many people jumped on board to side with Jussie Smollett before there were photos, before there were police statements, before all that stuff.”

Defending his colleagues and the mainstream media as a whole, Stelter blamed the firestorm that erupted in the wake of Smollett’s alleged attack on “activists, actors, Hollywood celebrities, friends of Smollett, [and] Democratic presidential candidates” along with the “celebrity press.” Stelter commended the mainstream media, however, for doing “really careful reporting.”

But see… if they did, in fact, have their doubts, it makes what they did EVEN WORSE.

It means they REALIZED they were PUMPING RAW BULLSH*T out into the world. Because they certainly didn’t SEEM skeptical about it.

As noted by The Blaze, Camerota’s assertion that CNN was “skeptical” of Smollett’s alleged hate crime is farcical on its face. In fact, the moment it hit the news cycle, CNN’s Brooke Baldwin said, “This is America in 2019.” Later that day in another segment, CNN’s national correspondent Ryan Young in Chicago delivered a monologue presenting Smollett’s victimization as a given:

But this is kind of a shock. And we’ve seen, of course, the buzz on social media surrounding this case. But then when you think about the idea on top of that — the idea that racial slurs and maybe even some of the homophobic slurs being used toward him — you can see how serious this crime is right now. A lot of the people who work in this industry also live in this part of the town, so you can understand the concern even as we’ve been talking to people in this area. There’s been a sharp reaction to this crime. Hopefully we’ll learn more from police in the next few hours … been giving them calls to figure out exactly what detectives have so far, maybe a vehicle description or some sort of build. Don’t have any of that information so far, but it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Baldwin immediately replied, “Absolutely despicable.”

Yeah… that’s NOT what’s “Absolutely despicable,” CNN.
