The deadline is right around the corner.
Tomorrow. It’s tomorrow.
If Trump doesn’t sign what Congress throws his way, we’ll have another government shutdown.
The spending bill has been released. Anyone can read it…that is, if they have nothing better to do for like, two days straight. It’s 1,159-pages long. It’s insane, because they’re voting on it today. There’s NO WAY they’ll have time to read it.
Here’s what we know for sure: It provides $22.5 billion for border security but only $1.375 billion for 55 miles of a physical barrier.
I don’t know. I don’t think it’s a true compromise. I understand that it’s SOMETHING, but it’s well short of the $5.7 billion originally requested. If he signs it, it’ll feel like a cave. Unless of course he signs it and immediately declares a national emergency for the remainder of the funding. I don’t know.
Sen. Cornyn is remaining relatively optimistic.
Trump’s not revealing his hand yet.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
