Some Women Are Getting Live Ant Manicures, Because Reasons

It’s been quite some time since I’ve had a good manicure. I usually just do my nails myself. Although I’m a big fan of gel manicures. Two weeks, no chipping? Yes please!

We’ve seen an awful lot of disturbing nail trends, but I have to say: This one takes the cake.

For some reason completely beyond me, some women are getting manicures with live ants.

Nail Sunny, a Moscow-based beauty salon, shared a video of the creepy crawly nail art with its 1.8 million Instagram followers last week – and it wasn’t long before it found itself coming under vicious attack from commenters, many of whom accused the salon of abuse, while others simply voiced their horror at the eerie nature of the nails.

A lot of people are outraged and calling this “animal abuse.”

First of all, I don’t really put ants on the same level as dogs, so I have a hard time jumping on the animal abuse train.

Also, I love coffee, but no.
