Borderline Bar Shooter Had No Official Record Of PTSD Issues

The monster who murdered 12 people at the Bordeline Bar in Southern California has been identified as a 28-year-old former Marine. He was already known to law enforcement. They dealt with him as recently as April. Police were called to his home after reports of a “disturbance.” There found him “irate and acting irrationally.” It was SO bad that a crisis team was called. They ultimately gave him the clear.

THEN, we found out about his last Facebook post. It’s chilling.

“I hope people call me insane… (laughing emojis).. wouldn’t that just be a big ball of irony? Yeah.. I’m insane, but the only thing you people do after these shootings is ‘hopes and prayers’.. or ‘keep you in my thoughts’… every time… and wonder why these keep happening…”

Upon learning that, most people assumed he had PTSD. However, we’re just finding out that the shooter had no OFFICIAL record of PTSD issues.

Ian Long — the former Marine who killed 12 people in a country music bar allegedly suffered from severe PTSD, but there’s no record of him ever contacting the Corps for help … so says the military.

Long served in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011 and left the service in 2013 after a final stint in Hawaii. Shortly after the massacre, former neighbors of Long revealed he had a long history of PTSD … and a classmate of his told us the same thing.

We reached out the Marines to see if the military branch had any evidence of Long’s condition and if they acted appropriately, but we were told the Marines have no record Ian ever indicated he was suffering. A rep for Veteran’s Affairs tells us he was never enrolled in VA health care at any time.

That obviously doesn’t mean he didn’t have it. It just means they didn’t have an active RECORD of it. He never sought treatment through the VA.

I’m not really sure what to make of this. My heart just continues to break for those who lose their loved ones. It’s absolutely devastating. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain.
