Retiring Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake hasn’t ruled out potentially running in the 2020 GOP primary against President Donald Trump, with whom he’s repeatedly sparred since the 2016 election.

“I’ve not ruled it out. I’ve not ruled it in,” he pithily said when asked during an interview this week about a potential run. “Just, somebody needs to run on the Republican side.”

He’s legitimately better off running as a Democrat. I’m not even kidding.

“If I were 18 today and had to say what conservatives now believe in, and my only evidence was the campaign now concluded, I would have to say that the conservative party in the United States seems to be the party that scares you into supporting it,” he wrote.

“I would have to say that it is the party fueled by anger, by racial and cultural resentments, by outlandish conspiracy theories and by what can only be described as an irrational fear of immigrants.”

Well, I’m NOT 18. I’m 28… But I’m also a NEW Conservative, and I can honestly say that conservatives believe in individual liberties, booming economies, strong borders, and the right to life.
