Viewers caught a member of the US Coast Guard subtly flashing the controversial “OK” symbol during a live broadcast on MSNBC. Please know that I realize the “OK” symbol is NOT ACTUALLY A SYMBOL OF WHITE SUPREMACY OR WHITE POWER. That was literally started as a hoax, and everyone grabbed onto it. In my world, the OK symbol still means OK.

Obviously, this guy did this intentionally. He was looking shady as heck right before he flashed it. I don’t know if he was doing it because he’s an Actual White Supremacist or if he was just trying to be the ultimate troll, but either way, now is NOT the time. The Coast Guard is dealing with a natural disaster. Just stop.
The Coast Guard has responded:
We are aware of the offensive video on twitter – the Coast Guard has identified the member and removed him from the response. His actions do not reflect those of the United States Coast Guard.

“Whatever that symbol means, it doesn’t reflect the Coast Guard and our core values,” Coast Guard Lt. J.B. Zorn said. “It won’t be tolerated.”
The man hasn’t been publicly identified. It sounds like the Coast Guard is handling it internally.
I don’t know if he’s just a troll or what, but if that’s the case, it’s NOT THE TIME. And if he’s an Actual White supremacist? GTHO.
