Beto O’Rourke’s DUI Arrest Was Even Worse Than We Thought

Ashley (Kimber)

I have written about this before: I have absolutely NO tolerance for drunk driving.

My grandmother and uncle were killed by an intoxicated driver when my mother was young. My aunt and younger uncle were severely injured by the crash.

It changed our family forever. We will FOREVER live with the consequences of a selfish a-hole’s stupid decision.

I don’t CARE what happens to YOU if you drunk drive. I care about the people whose lives you could be destroying. They didn’t ask for this. YOU did.

I understand people make mistakes. Drunk driving doesn’t make you a bad person. Good people make stupid choices… I’m just URGING you not to.

It’s long been known that Beto O’Rourke, Ted Cruz’ opponent and current Democratic Golden Boy, has a DUI arrest on his record, and people have mostly forgiven him for it… but it’s what happens AFTER you make one bad decision that makes you a bad person.

What people DIDN’T know is that not ONLY did he HIT SOMEONE… he tried to flee the scene.

If the POS who killed my grandmother didn’t LEAVE THE SCENE… she and my uncle might still be alive today.

According to Daily Caller:

The Houston Chronicle reported on Friday that newly-obtained police reports alleged “two elements of the incident that have been overlooked: that there was a crash involved, and that O’Rourke allegedly attempted to flee.”

A reporter who witnessed the crash said that he observed O’Rourke traveling at a “high rate of speed” in a 75-mph zone as O’Rourke then “lost control of the vehicle and struck a truck.”

O’Rourke then reportedly attempted to flee the scene of the crash after hitting someone, but the reporter was there to stop him from getting away.

It doesn’t look like there were any major injuries…

But did he know that when he tried to flee?

Did he care?

The Texas Department of Public Safety report “described O’Rourke as having ‘glossy’ eyes, slurred speech, smelling of liquor, and almost falling to the ground as he got out of his car,” the Chronicle added.

O’Rourke tried to claim that he had only consumed two beers and had taken “cold medication” while he was taking a friend home, but the police report does not mention that any passengers were with him in the vehicle. According to The Washington Free Beacon, “O’Rourke was tested on two police breathalyzers, blowing a .136 and .134. The state’s legal limit at the time was .10; it has since been reduced to .08.”

O’Rourke, who has long tried to characterize his criminal behavior as “youthful indiscretions,” was 26 years old at the time he was arrested for drunk driving and was 22 years old when he was arrested in 1995 on burglary charges.

I’m 27. One year older than “Beto” was at the time of the accident.

That’s PLENTY old enough to know that leaving the scene of a car wreck makes you a certifiable scumbag.
