Ashley Judd Posts Horrendous Selfie And Complains About #MaleGaze.

I think y’all know by now that I loathe Ashley Judd with the fury of a billion suns. If this is news to you, type “Ashley Judd” into the search bar here on our site, and peruse the dozens and dozens of posts and you’ll get a pretty good feel for the reasoning.

Today, I visited her IG page because I was curious to see if she’d commented on the whole Asia Argento thing yet. She hadn’t mentioned it on IG, but I did see that she and Mira Sorvino both commented elsewhere that they stand with any and all victims of sex abuse, so that’s cool. Ashley Judd tweeted:

You have no idea how catty I wanna be right now about that photo.  Suffice it to say I am DELIGHTED about it, and actually quite stunned she posted it voluntarily.

“Hashtag MaleGaze?” WTF?

Is she suggesting that men should no longer GAZE AT WOMEN? Because if that’s the case, why does she tag designers in posts she puts up wearing fancy gowns? Does she not expect people to gaze upon her and want to know who made her dresses? Does she only want women to look at her? Why, exactly, did she pose like this in GQ magazine (a magazine, I should note, that is FOR MEN?)

Why did she pose for the UK MEN’s Hockey Team like this?

I looked up “Male Gaze” on Wiki, and here’s the definition:

So, the #malegaze is when dudes look at women as sexual objects for their pleasure.  In other words, it’s when dudes look at women and notice how sexually attractive they are.

Ashley Judd could’ve said that this was the equivalent of rape and I wouldn’t have even been a LITTLE bit surprised.  That is how batsh*t she is.

But again, I’m not sure why she’d be surprised that men are gazing at her sexually when these are her outfits of choice:

Newsflash.  BOOBS ARE SEXY.  They are often (like in the examples above) seen as sexual what them being female secondary sex characteristics and whatnot.  I can’t believe this requires explanation.  You may not LIKE that boobs are sexual, but if you think for one second that men are going to suddenly STOP seeing boobs as sexual simply because you’re using a new hashtag, you’re freaking delusional.

But I suppose that’s stating the obvious.

If Ashley Judd were reading this right now, she’d tell me I’m somehow participating in the patriarchy right now, and exhibiting internalized misogyny or some bullsh*t, and that I’m giving dudes a pass for leering at women.  Well, how about we rename the hashtag #maleleering then and not blame them for freaking GAZING at us when we look hot?

If I had my boobs on full display the way Ashley Judd does so often, I’d actually be offended if dudes DIDN’T GAZE.
