One of Harvey Weinstein’s first accusers, Italian actress Asia Argento, paid off a young actor, Jimmy Bennet, who accused HER of sexual abuse. She literally played his mother, and he saw her as a mother figure IRL. She knew him as a little boy (she played his mother in a film years ago), and they REFERRED to each other as mother/son. That is, until May 9, 2013.
On May 9, 2013, the day they met for a reunion in her room at a Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, Calif., she posted on Instagram: “Waiting for my long lost son my love @jimmymbennett in trepidation #marinadelrey smoking cigarettes like there was no next week.”
Mr. Bennett responded, “I’m almost there!:)”
Mr. Bennett, who has an eye condition that prevents him from driving, arrived at Ms. Argento’s hotel room that morning with a family member, according to his notice of intent.
The document lays out Mr. Bennett’s account: Ms. Argento asked the family member to leave so she could be alone with the actor. She gave him alcohol to drink and showed him a series of notes she had written to him on hotel stationery. Then she kissed him, pushed him back on the bed, removed his pants and performed oral sex. She climbed on top of him and the two had intercourse, the document says. She then asked him to take a number of photos.
That entire “fling” really messed him up. He saw her as a mother figure and she nailed him. Not to mention that he was a minor at the time. Did I mention that?
Naturally, Argento paid him off. $380,000 in hush money.
Fast forward a few years later. Here we are, with Argento walking around, speechifying about how perpetrators are “still out there” and “still have to be held accountable…”
That’s Hollywood hypocrisy for ya. Hey– speaking of hypocrisy, Rose McGowan is speaking up, and it’s incredibly interesting.
I got to know Asia Argento ten months ago. Our commonality is the shared pain of being assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. My heart is broken. I will continue my work on behalf of victims everywhere.

None of us know the truth of the situation and I’m sure more will be revealed. Be gentle.

*insert car screech here* WAIT WHAT?! No no no no no. What ever happened to “victims have every right to be believed” and yada yada yada? Why should we be gentle? Did you hear what happened, Rose? She slept with a 17-year-old boy who looked up to her as a mother figure and TRIED TO PAY HIM OFF. OMG. Are you listening to yourself? We’re talking about a MINOR.
Hey Rose– remember this?
Sexual Harrassment/Assault is EPIDEMIC WORLDWIDE. Every 98 secs someone is sexually assaulted in USA, majority are women. BELIEVE US https://t.co/sV8bjnhCGQ

And this?
It’s quite simple, all who have worked with known predators should do 3 simple things. 1) Believe survivors 2) Apologize for putting your careers and wallets before what was right. 3) Grab a spine and denounce. If you do not do these things you are still moral cowards. #ROSEARMY

What changed? Oh, that’s right. Her friend was accused, so she changed the rules. She feels no need to grab her spine and denounce, because…well, Asia is her friend.
This is how it works in Hollywood. Soak it all in.
