Chicago had a particularly bad weekend, violence wise. Over 50 people were shot.
Nearly 60 people were shot between Friday night and Monday morning across Chicago, according to police. https://t.co/Pl0Ypk3j3V

Actually, according to ABC News, 11 people were killed and 70 people were wounded over the weekend.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel decided to address the situation, and his response was…less than helpful.
“All of us know that this is not Chicago, what we saw…we are better than what we saw,” Emanuel said.
This wasn’t a random spurt of violence, buddy. This has been an ongoing issue…
But LISTEN. It’s not like this happened in EVERY neighborhood in Chicago, so that’s good!
Mayor Rahm Emanuel after weekend of violence that left 11 dead: “What happened this weekend did not happen in every neighborhood in Chicago, but it is unacceptable to happen in any neighborhood of Chicago.” https://t.co/uvOd3WNfKY pic.twitter.com/akNpKjB429

See? Doesn’t that make you feel better?
No? Oh.
Oh. And he said this.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel: “You can talk about the weather, but the weather didn’t pull the trigger. You can talk about jobs, and they count, but in parts of the city where there aren’t jobs, people did not pull the trigger.” https://t.co/O7smQpUa48 pic.twitter.com/IZvHFdu2dC

People did not pull the trigger? Huh? Thanks for the “clarification” there…

NARRATOR: Actually, people did, in fact, pull the trigger(s) or the gun(s) wouldn’t have shot the bullets that killed all those other people. https://t.co/wAOdUNP1fm

This is what 100 years of one party rule looks like. Violence, no jobs, and no future.

You sir are incompetent to hold office. All you think and talk about is your hatred towards the president.

Did the triggers… pull themselves? https://t.co/ChbNZXsWCX

This is unintelligible nonsense. https://t.co/vRzjb4OZ07

63 murders this weekend in Rahm Emmanuel’s Chicago. His legacy more murders in his city than ever before. It’s only because of Democrat brain washing that he has even a chance of remaining. Support police professional Garry McCarthy.
— Rudy Giuliani (@RudyGiuliani) August 6, 2018
Chicago murders are direct result of one party Democratic rule for decades. Policing genius Jerry McCarthy can do for Chicago what I did for NYC. He was one of the architects of Compstat. Slashed homicides over 70%. Tens of thousands of lives saved.
— Rudy Giuliani (@RudyGiuliani) August 6, 2018
Give Garry McCarthy your support @Garry4Chicago. Tomorrow I will get you information to contribute. MAKE CHICAGO SAFE AGAIN! He can do a lot better than Mayor Emmanuel who is fiddling while Chicago burns.

By the way, is this supposed to make everyone feel better about the weekend? Because NO.
Chicago Police Superintendent says 46 were arrested on gun charges amid weekend of violence; 60 guns seized, atop 5,600 guns seized so far in 2018.
“We’ve seen a 20% reduction in murders this year, and roughly 17% reduction in shootings.” https://t.co/KgRTH4vIRQ pic.twitter.com/ieAswkn9dO

I can’t. I just can’t.
