Oh great. LeBron James is getting political again.
James sat down for an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon and uttered, quite possibly, one of the dumbest Trump takes to date.
“You know, we are in a position right now in America, more importantly where this whole, this race thing has taken over,” James said. “One, because I believe our president is kind of trying to divide us.”
“Kind of?” Lemon asked.
“Is,” James said. “No, I don’t want to say kind of.”
James does know that Obama isn’t in office, right? Obama was the race-baiting king. Get it straight, dude.
Here’s where it got really dumb. James actually accused Trump of using sports to “divide” us.
Uh-huh.
“And what I’ve noticed over the past few months is he’s kind of used sports to kind of divide us, and that’s something that I can’t relate to,” James continued.
He’s obviously talking about the whole NFL kneeling debacle, which is ridiculous because Trump didn’t cause that. It’s not his fault that selfish NFL players decided to spend the bulk of last season disrespecting our country and those who serve it. Trump simply said what we were ALL thinking. We’re sick of it. We don’t want to see that. We want to see respect on the field.

I’m just so perplexed by his take. Why won’t James blame the athletes? Maybe their actions are dividing the country. Don’t get mad at Trump for stating the obvious.
By the way, James, who CLEARLY wants to be known as a uniter, said he wouldn’t sit across from Trump. ‘Cause #unity or something.
On CNN, LeBron James said Donald Trump created an environment where people are more comfortable being racist. Asked what he’d say to Trump if he were seated at the interview, LeBron answered, “I would never sit across from him.”
