All of the news involving Richard Simmons is completely bizarre. Remember how back in the day there were rumors that Simmons was being held hostage by his house keeper or something? And remember how Trump was all, “We have to get him out. We have to get him out. No question” prior to the election?
Good times.
Not too long after, the National Enquirer ran a story, claiming that Simmons was transitioning into a woman named Fiona. Simmons denied the allegations and filed a lawsuit. However, he lost because the judge didn’t want to “validate prejudice.”
“While, as a practical matter, the characteristic may be held in contempt by a portion of the population, the court will not validate those prejudices by legally recognizing them,” the judge said.
In other words, the judge wanted to make sure that people knew that “being trans” is NOT an insult.
It sucks for Simmons. He was ordered to dish out thousands of dollars, and none of this was his fault in the first place.
Apparently, a private investigator PLANTED A TRACKING DEVICE on Simmons’ car without his knowledge.
Scott Brian Matthews was charged with 2 counts of the crime of unlawfully using a tracking device.
Prosecutors say Matthews planted the device on the car Richard bought for his housekeeper, Teresa Reveles. They say he planted it so he could shadow Simmons and see if he was going to doctors or hospitals.
Simmons is suing his butt. He alleges that the National Enquirer put Matthews up to it. If true, it shows how desperate they are to “prove” that he’s transitioning into a woman.
There’s still no proof of that. Just FYI.
Poor Richard Simmons.
