I wholeheartedly believe that Ashley Judd is emblematic of the larger feminist problem in America. When I think about the devolution of feminism, I think of Ashley Judd. She’s a perpetual victim. She creates problems out of thin air. She almost sees herself as some sort of higher being and treats those who disagree with her like worthless peasants. Plus, she’s insane and reads poetry about blood stained bet sheets in public. That too.
That brings me to this. Ashley Judd’s latest Instagram post. Can someone please decode the psychobabble here?

Her caption reads:
“I wake up each morning and go outdoors, to my #moss (or #frontporch if it’s raining). I read spiritual texts, write, and have a seated #meditation practice that I love and today, after earlier years of it being off and on, yearn for it as I would a glass of ester when thirsty. This is how I have begun my days for many, many years. It feels good. It helps me connect with my #higherpower and my deeper self and life feels so fresh and hopefully and I feel #safe. I am reminded of what matters, my values and integrity, and I can better reach out to others from a place of belonging and unity (free from the delusion we must be uniform). Non-dual, non-binary truth is easier to hold in a non turbulent spirit. What a beautiful space from which to begin and begin, every day. #goddoesgoodwork #summer #selfie #reality #iamwhatiam #happy #womenoftheworldtakeover #meditationforsocialchange #richardrohr”
Here’s a screenshot in case she deletes or modifies the post. (She’s done that before):
I have so many questions.
First, when she wakes up, she goes to her moss? Like, she gets out of bed, brushes her teeth, then it’s #mosstime? What does #mosstime entail, and why did she choose moss? Why can’t she engage in her seated meditation practice near– I don’t know– a succulent?
I need to know what’s so special about that moss.
Moving on.
So basically, this was her routine in the past, but she wants us to know that she once stopped this routine but craved it like a glass of ester. That’s fairly confounding, because isn’t ester some sort of chemical compound that burns your flesh? I could be wrong, but according to the almighty Google Machine…
In chemistry, an ester is a chemical compound derived from an acid in which at least one –OH group is replaced by an –O–alkyl group. Usually, esters are derived from a carboxylic acid and an alcohol.
Is there some sort of fancy drink I’m totally unaware of? Someone want to help me out on this?
Moving on again.
This weird routine makes Judd feel “safe,” but by saying that, she implies that she USUALLY feels unsafe. Right? That brings me back to the moss. Does this magic moss have like, maternal make-you-feel-safe powers? Speaking of powers, what is her “#higherpower”? It doesn’t sound like she’s referring to God. It sounds like she’s referring to herself. Her entire spiel is a load of self-worship, so I guess that makes sense.
How sad it must be to depend entirely on yourself and your own “high power.” What a miserable way to live. We’re all imperfect, so if you’re depending on yourself for perfection, safety and security in a spiritual sense, you’re going to be disappointed over and over and over again.
Final question. What the heck is “non-dual, non-binary truth”? Doesn’t truth stand alone? Why is she adding a bunch of unnecessary attachments to it? Unseparated truth is easier to hold than an undisturbed spirit? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? I might be a hayseed, but I can usually flesh out this sort of psycho garble. But this truly makes NO SENSE to me.
HAAAALP. What did I just read?
