Church Minister Ruins “God Bless The USA” And Reminds Me Why Church Attendance Is At An All-Time Low…

If you ever wondered why church attendance is down these days, well, it’s because of stuff like this.  

A church minister at First United Methodist Church in Burlington, Vermont decided to change Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” and turn it into “God Forgive the USA” on Independence Day.  Why, you ask?  Well, because illegal immigrants are breaking the law and then ICE is doing its job and then Americans are being all American-y by just existing and consequently being horrible (huh?) and this dude is totally virtue signaling.  You know, in church.  On the FOURTH OF JULY.

Anywho, here’s his little ditty:

People on the YouTube are generally praising it, saying it’s the best thing since sliced bread.  That’s neat, Methodists.  Good job.

But seriously, where was the Methodist church when millions of babies were murdered by Planned Parenthood since the 70s?  Did one of their ministers re-write a cheesy 80s song for them and sing it to the congregation?  What about all of the children who were separated from their parents because of the rampant opioid crisis in this country?  Was there a song belted out for them?  How about if I broke the law tomorrow and I went to jail – would this dude write a song about my kid not being able to go to jail with me?  Because I guaran-dang-tee you that my kid wouldn’t be able to go with me to my jail cell if I didn’t pay my taxes and went to the pokey.  It’s called THE LAW, people.  I choose not to break it on a daily basis.  Yep.  That’s called a CHOICE.

And what about the people who are forever separated from their loved ones because they were killed by illegal immigrants who broke into this country?  What about the ones who were raped and beaten by illegal immigrants and are still dealing with the trauma of that?  Is there a song for them?

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this is that there wasn’t a song re-written until Trump was president, yet these immigration policies have been in place for decades.

Weird how that works.

And people wonder why church attendance is at an all-time low…
