This is absolutely horrific.
The Washington Times is providing updates on the Annapolis “Capital Gazette” shooting:
Five people are dead and others wounded after a gunman opened fire the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis Thursday, shattering the quiet of Maryland’s capital city.
Police said they were on the scene within a minute and engaged the suspect, who they took into custody.
They thought the building was secure but were still clearing it Thursday afternoon, and the acting police chief said it will take “quite awhile” before they know a motive and the full details of what occurred.
“There are several people who have died from this incident and several others who are injured,” Annapolis County Executive Steve Schuh said at a press conference.
Reporters from the newspaper took to Twitter to describe what they saw and heard.
“There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people got shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload,” tweeted Phil Davis, a reporter at the paper.

Later, Mr. Davis tweeted that he is safe and being interviewed by police.
According to WTOP the shooter is now in custody:
Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh said the suspected shooter is in custody and is being questioned by police. Authorities have not named the suspect, did not say what type of gun was used or describe a possible motive.
