Man Invoices His Date After She ‘Ghosts’ Him, And The Internet Can’t Decide Who’s Right

Alright. Buckle up, because no one can seem to agree here.

A woman recently shared her “horror” online, after her date sent her an invoice.

Afterward, this exchange occurred:

She didn’t follow up with him in the first place, because she decided they weren’t compatible.

OK so… first dates are usually pretty awkward. And if you’re the chick and decide you don’t want to see the guy again, it’s really hard to be all, “Yeah OK so this was lovely but this isn’t going to work bye.” It’s suuuuuuper awkward. A lot of the time, people leave it open-ended– “Yeah I’ll call you”- something like that– and eventually the other party gets the hint.

It’s life. First dates are a gamble, especially on the guy’s part. He knows going into it that it might not work out, but he USUALLY pays anyway because what loser would bring a chick on a date and make her pay on the first date?

ANYWAY, Twitter is super divided.

Another critic of Amanda commented, ‘If you don’t have the decency to text the guy back he’s in every right to make you pay for the meal. Only fair!’

‘So many girls just expect the guy to pay for everything,’ a very annoyed user commented.

Despite all of the comments from people taking the man’s defense, one mediator wrote: ‘It depends on how the date went.

‘He could have been a complete jerk for all we know, then again so could she. You don’t really know until you hear both sides.

That’s where I tend to stand. We have NO IDEA how the date went. Maybe she was horrid. Who knows? Maybe he was a jerk. Who knows? Either way, dudes know first dates are a gamble. It kinda skeeves me out that he took the time to send her an invoice. Just get over it and move on. I wouldn’t want to be with a guy who would take the time to do that. I’d consider it a dodged bullet. Then again, if she knew right there that it wasn’t going to work, maybe she should’ve paid for her own meal?
