The NRA posted the following tweet in response to increasing calls for “gun control” …
I’ll control my own guns, thank you. #2A #NRA pic.twitter.com/jqbZzwcWf6

Ted Deutch, an (obviously Democratic) Congressman from Florida, hit back with this little nugget:
That’s what Nikolas Cruz said. #DespicableGunLobby https://t.co/9y8CORVbg4
— Ted Deutch (@TedDeutch) March 15, 2018
Oh. My. GOD.
Is he for real with this?!
Actually, I think he was saying “I need help!” But school officials, law enforcement, and the FBI weren’t listening. #SupportTheNRA #2A

It’s interesting to me that no one ever describes rapists, terrorists or armed bank robbers as “crying out for help,” only mass murderers who use semiautomatic assault weapons
— Lucy Boudet (@gatorlu) March 16, 2018
Lucy, can you explain to me how a weapon can be a semiautomatic and fully automatic at the same time?
Also, of all the serial killers/rapists/bank robbers out there, how many called LE, told them what they wanted to do and who they were and there was no intervention?

Ask her to explain what an assault weapon is…
See if she includes cell phones, often used for cyberbullying.— Allen Lindsay (@skanz0) March 16, 2018
Seriously… wtf?
When you have to LIE to try and force your message on others, you know your real message sucks. You need to focus your attention of the FAILURES of FBI, police and school admins as to why this happened. NRA had no dog in this game, but you KNOW this. 🤔😉🤫 pic.twitter.com/qVpB88AP91

@TedDeutch. That is a very irresponsible thing to say. Understand the problem and understand history before labeling others and casting stones. You may learn something useful along the way.

Did he say that during 1 of the 39 interactions your state’s law enforcement had with him before he murdered 17 people? Or was this a part of the statement reported to the FBI before he murdered 17 people?
How are you a congressman?
— VinV (@VinV555) March 16, 2018
@TedDeutch if you’re so in touch with his quotes, what did you do when he called himself a future school shooter?
— Matt Burton (@Mburton1967) March 16, 2018
The INABILITY of these people to see the breakdown of accountability in what happened here is simply astonishing…
GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE.
PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.
AND THE PERSON WHO KILLED PEOPLE COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED… GET THIS… BY OTHER PEOPLE.
But they didn’t. Law enforcement at EVERY level failed to protect those 17 people from a deranged shooter.
….and now they want to take our ability to protect OURSELVES.
