President Trump Holds A Bipartisan Meeting On Guns

President Trump made a bold move and allowed the press to watch the bipartisan meeting on guns.

Trump said he doesn’t want mentally ill people having guns.

He said he supports the NRA but still floated the idea of raising the age to purchase rifles to 21.

Clearly, a lot of lawmakers don’t agree with that. I personally don’t. It won’t make a difference. It won’t make anyone safer.

This exchange was kinda cringeworthy. Trump suggested we should “Take the guns first. Go through due process second,” when it comes to mentally ill people. He said, “I like taking the guns early.”

He talked about the possibility of implementing some sort of “rating system” for videos and movies.

Rep. Rutherford brought up how stupid gun free zones are. Trump agreed.

He blasted lawmakers for not doing anything about all of this over the last 20 years.

There’s a lot to process here, but I’m pleased to see Trump is– in the very LEAST– making the point that gun free zones are stupid and completely ineffective.
