Florida Shooter’s Younger Brother Has Been Forcibly Checked In To A Mental Hospital

Zachary Cruz, Nikolas Cruz’s younger brother, has been involuntarily committed to a mental institution for a mental evaluation.

According to Biz Pac Review:

Zachary Cruz, the younger brother of Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz, was committed to a psychiatric facility two days after the tragic Valentine’s Day rampage.

Authorities removed Zachary from the home of Roxanne Deschamps on Friday, according to the Palm Beach Post. Zachary and Nikolas began living with Deschamps in her Lantana, Florida, mobile home shortly after their mom died of pneumonia in November 2017.

Zachary, who turns 18 next week, was involuntarily committed to the mental health facility under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows the hospital to forcibly hold someone for a psychiatric exam for up to 12 hours. It is unknown if the boy has been released by now.

There are no real details whether he was displaying signs of being a danger to anyone, or if this is simply a preventive measure to be sure he’s ok.

The kid has been totally orphaned and his older brother just committed a mass shooting… I don’t think it hurts to check in with him.

Though I wonder if the fact that he’s been involuntarily committed is telling… was he refusing to cooperate beforehand?

Deschamps allegedly kicked Nikolas Cruz out of their home around Thanksgiving following an argument over his gun.

“He bought a gun and wanted to bring it into my house,” Roxanne Deschamps wrote on Facebook. “Violence and gun not accepted in my house.” She has since deleted the post

A family friend said Deschamps gave Cruz an ultimatum. Cruz “chose the gun and he left,” while his younger brother stayed.

I’m assuming this means Deschamps didn’t see Zachary as a threat, unlike his older brother.

Nikolas then moved in with James and Kimberly Snead and their 17-year-old son, and that’s where he hatched his murderous plot.

At this point, there are more questions than answers as to what fueled Nikolas Cruz’s deadly rampage. Cruz, 19, was an orphan when he committed the mass shootings, and reportedly had a history of mental illness and trouble in school.

It’s unclear what exactly triggered his breakdown. It’s also unclear why the FBI failed to follow up on credible tips that Cruz was homicidal and even bragged about wanting to be a “professional school shooter.”

I hate all of this so much.
