President Trump has asked the Pentagon to consider putting on a French-style military parade in DC. Like I said before, this was my initial reaction.
I’m torn. I absolutely adore our military, and I know there’s no ill-intent on President Trump’s end. He simply wants this to be a display of patriotism. Part of me wonders if he’s floating this simply to expose the far left’s general disdain for our military. I’m just wondering if this is smart financially.
I KNOW what’s coming. The left is already characterizing this as a dictatorial move, which is absurd. Hitler’s stupid parades were designed to honor HIM. We’re not Nazi Germany. We’re not North Korea. We’re America. I understand that those horrific images come to mind for a lot of people, but we’re not those horrific places or regimes. A parade wouldn’t honor Trump. It would display the greatness of our heroes and progression of our military, and that is pretty cool. But again. We already know we’re great. We already know we have the most bada$$ military on the face of the planet. So is this necessary?
As you can see, I’m conflicted and NOT because I think Trump has bad intentions.
As predicted, reactions are all over the place. These are some of the dumbest.
The DOW is plummeting, the government is about to shut down…

Trump’s wannabe despot checklist:
✓Call press “enemy of the people”
✓Scapegoat minorities
✓Call to jail political opponents
✓Fire people investigating you
✓Politicize law enforcement
✓Lie to boost cult of personality
✓Host strongman military parade— Brian Klaas (@brianklaas) February 7, 2018
His entire list is basically false to the max, but whatever.
The President of the United States wants to wave his willy just like they do in North Korea & Russia. The dignity-police have been alerted. Even @thedailymash couldn’t make this up: https://t.co/fOiJnt6N65

It’s not a Trump parade. Let’s get that straight.
No matter how you feel about this parade, I think we can ALL agree that George Takei’s reaction is the dumbest ever. He thinks this parade is just Trump’s way of distracting us from how WEAK he is. Also, RUSSIA COLLUSION!
Just as screaming “no collusion!” at every opportunity is not how an innocent person acts, so a large military parade displaying our military might for all to see is not how a strong person acts.
Overcompensating much, Donald?

I cannot believe he’s still on that. There is no collusion. Ask Democratic lawmakers, Takei. They’ve already admitted it. There is nothing. Democrats are guilty of doing exactly what they’re accusing the Trump campaign of. Heck, Schiff wanted Trump’s nudes.
Please. Say what you want about the military parade, but Trump’s not floating the idea because he’s a dictator, and it’s not designed to “distract” us from Russia collusion. That’s a really dumb take.
