Ashleigh Banfield DESTROYS Supposed ‘Feminist’ Writer Who Attacks Her Age And Appearance

As we mentioned a few days ago, Ashleigh Banfield went OFF on a woman who accused comedian Aziz Anzari of sexual misconduct.

Here’s a refresher on the “HORRIFIC” stuff she said:

I agree with her entirely.

I think something must be done about sexual misconduct… I also feel that calling EVERY unpleasant encounter sexual abuse will swing the pendulum so far that TRUE victims will no longer get the support they need.

We’re walking on very thin ice here.

Anyway, some chick wrote a pretty nasty email about her. You know. Because feminism.

According to this:

HLN’s Ashleigh Banfield has hit back at journalist Katie Way, after the Babe.net reporter wrote an insulting email about the host.

Banfield, 50, read the letter Way wrote, which included ageist language stating ‘nobody under the age of 45 has heard of,’ her during Tuesday’s Crime & Justice.

Way wrote a letter to HLN’s invite to appear on the show after writing a piece featuring ‘Grace’ and a date she went on with Aziz Ansari.

‘It’s an unequivocal no from me. The way your colleague Ashleigh (?), someone I’m certain no one under the age of 45 has ever heard of, by the way, ripped into my source directly was one of the lowest, most despicable things I’ve ever seen in my entire life,’ expressed Way.

The reporter added: ‘Shame on her. Shame on HLN. Ashleigh could have ‘talked’ to me. She could have ‘talked’ to my editor or my publication.

‘I hope the ~500 RTs on the single news write-up made that burgundy lipstick bad highlights second-wave feminist has-been feel really relevant for a little while,’ Way said.

‘She DISGUSTS me, and I hope when she has more distance from the moment she has enough of a conscience left to feel remotely ashamed — doubt it, but still.’

The Babe.net writer added: ‘Must be nice to piggyback off of the fact that another woman was brave enough to speak up and add another dimension to the societal conversation about sexual assault.

Way asserts that she won’t be appearing on the show and that she’ll remember the moment for the duration of her career, however long that may be.

‘I’m 22 and so far, not too shabby,’ she boast, boldly.

‘And I will laugh the day you fold. If you could let Ashleigh know I said this, and that she is no-holds-barred the reason, it’d be a real treat for me.

She also attacks her highlights and lipstick. Because that’s what feminism is all about!

Ooooh honey… your millennial is showing. You might want to take a seat.

I’m much older and wiser than this brave little 22 year old. (I’m a ripe old 27) and let me tell you… this is NOT a good move.

Ashleigh’s response was great:

‘The reason I want to share that is because if you truly believe in the #MeToo movement, if you truly believe in women’s rights, if you truly believe in feminism, the last thing you should do is attack someone in an ad hominem way for her age, I’m 50, and for my highlights,’ Banfield said.

‘I was brown-haired for a while when I was a war correspondent, interviewing Yasser Arafat, and in Afghanistan and Iraq, Gaza and the West Bank. Google those places.’

DAAAANG.

Banfield closed by stating ‘that is not the way we have this conversation, as women or men’ and added: ‘We do not attack people for their age, or their highlights or their lipstick because it is the most hypocritical thing a woman who says she supports the women’s movement could ever do and that’s the caliber of the woman who was given all of this power and was able to wield this power.’

If this Way chick thinks she’s “helping” the feminist movement with her entitled, mean-girl attitude… she’s very, very wrong.
