There’s so much wrong with this, I don’t even know where to begin.
OK. So. Royal Statistical Society just released its “Stat of the Year” and thanked Kim Kardashian for helping. The stat is “Americans are 34 times more likely to be killed each year by lawnmowers than foreign-born jihadis.”
A total of 69 people in the US die at the hands of the gardening machines.
At the same time, just two are murdered by immigrant jihadis over an average 12 month period.
The startling comparison is heralded by the Royal Statistical Society as its inaugural International Statistic of the Year.
I’m eye rolling so hard right now. Mostly because they’re thanking Kim K. for bringing this to light. Remember this?

The CEO of The Royal Statistic Society thanked her directly.
Americans 34 times more likely to be killed by lawnmowers than foreign-born jihadis. Thanks to @KimKardashian for helping us @RoyalStatSoc to find our #International #StatoftheYear https://t.co/kS9XrGymLG

Here’s the thing: Lawn mowers are inanimate objects. As in, they can’t decide to kill you. They don’t abide by an inherently evil ideology or plot the death of their enemies. Again. We’re talking inanimate objects. We don’t have to worry about lawn mowers deciding to become murderous jihadists. If you really can’t see the difference here, there’s nothing I can do for you. Not to mention that this stat only refers to foreign-born jihadis and the risk they pose to Americans. What about– I don’t know– the Brits? The French?
Yeah….apples for apples NOT!!!#DudComparison

Good.
Now do foreign-born lawnmowers.

I've never seen a video of a lawnmower screaming "Death to America!", And then beheading a human. How does that affect your stats?

Islamic terrorists want to kill you,the mower is work tool that can't do anything on it's own.

Lawnmowers don’t do it on purpose. https://t.co/yAhRYa6ekU

Well lawn mowers don't do it on purpose.

Well crap. Let’s turn our CIA, DOD, FBI, etc… attention towards @HomeDepot then. 🤔
— Darrell (@techndiego) December 19, 2017
Obviously, Home Depot is a death trap. Why is it even allowed to exist? It’s KILLING US. Don’t even get me started on Lowe’s, Tractor Supply or Ace!
How did you get to be the CEO of the Royal Stat Society? 🙄. You give the entire field a bad name with this single tweet.
