Blake Shelton has won People’s Sexiest Man Alive award… which doesn’t really mean much in my book, because some real boogers have won in the past and they keep passing up my boyfriend (the ACTUAL sexiest man alive). Obviously they have no idea what they’re talking about.
Anyway… people are OUTRAGED! because Blake is a homophobic, racist, misogynist… or something.
Remember when calling people those things used to mean something? interesting how those words have lost all power. You might as well call someone a doo-doo head.
To add to the annoyingness of this whole thing… THIS IS BECAUSE OF TRUMP. Of course it is. Of course.

Can I go ahead and admit that the outrage makes me like the idea of Shelton winning? I’m so freaking tired of everyone bending over backwards not to offend the snowflakes.
Good. I’m GLAD they’re offended. This crap is getting so old.
So… why are people OUTRAGED?
Blake used to have a habit of tweeting out things that aren’t totally PC…

OMG A GAY JOKE ABOUT GIRLY COFFEE.
This is horrific.

A JOKE ABOUT GAY PEOPLE WHO FLY RAINBOW FLAGS AT EVERY POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY LIKING RAINBOW-COLORED CANDY?!
He must be the DEVIL.

This is just a fact.

Wow. WOOOOWWWW. HORRIFIC GUYS. He’s basically a NAZI.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW I’VE NEVER HAD THOUGHTS LIKE THIS. (yes I have.)
Given the current climate of constant butthurt, comments like these are probably better said over a beer than on Twitter. So I think they make him an EVIL DEGENERATE?!
Nope. I don’t.
But I’m not a SJW cupcake, either.
Twitter users have expressed outrage after People magazine named Blake Shelton their Sexiest Man Alive of 2017.
The choice was lambasted by some upset over old tweets by the country music singer that they deemed racist, homophobic and misogynistic.
‘How did these not cause an outrage earlier?’ tweeted one user.
‘He’s disgusting,’ said another.
Another Twitter user wrote: ‘Blake Shelton being Sexiest Man Alive is the direct result of Trump’s America.’
The tweets were mainly posted from 2009 to 2011 and are often directed at other celebrities.
Shelton later apologized for the tweets in a statement that read: ‘Everyone knows comedy has been a major part of my career and it’s always been out there for anyone to see.
‘That said, anyone that knows me also knows I have no tolerance for hate of any kind or form. Can my humor at times be inappropriate and immature? Yes. Hateful? Never.’
I believe him. These just don’t strike me as mean-spirited jokes. They strike me as normal-dude jokes that simply aren’t “acceptable” anymore.
Blake seemed surprised to win the “prestigious” title.
Apparently Shelton himself was also surprised to be receiving the honor.
‘I’ve been ugly my whole life,’ Shelton, 41, said in a statement on Tuesday. ‘If I can be sexy for a year, I’m taking it!’
The country singer however took the opportunity to rip on his The Voice co-star Adam Levine, who was named Sexiest Man Alive by the same publication in 2013.‘I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass,’ Shelton declared. ‘As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.’
Oklahoma native Shelton spent a decade in country music before his popularity surged in 2011 as the wise-cracking judge and mentor to aspiring singers on NBC’s reality singing competition show The Voice.
His most recent album Texoma Shore was released earlier this month.
Shelton told People he could not wait to tease his fellow The Voice judge and Maroon 5 frontman Levine with his new Sexiest Man Alive title.
He just strikes me as a rough-around-the-edges country guy. No harm meant.
Of course, jokes about SKITTLES are enough to send people into a fit these days.
