I’m not surprised by this, but I’m sure the left will consider these findings “astonishing.”
“Security experts” have admitted that there’s no surefire way to prevent horrific attacks, such as the massacre carried out by Stephen Paddock. They actually say it’s a “nightmare scenario” that’s nearly impossible to predict and prevent.
In other words, Democrats in Congress can continue to shout, ” MORE LAWS,” but it won’t make a darn difference.
And security experts and top cops alike have been forced to admit that no amount of training and preparation can prevent someone ‘intent on doing harm’.
‘They will find a way to do it,’ said David Katz, CEO of Global Security Group, which conducts active-shooter training around the world.
Criminals don’t follow laws. This is common sense stuff, people.
‘The answer only really is, if there’s a sniper, there’s a counter-sniper.’
And that’s certainly not realistic. At least, not everywhere.
But ‘you’re not going to be able to deploy police units with sniper capabilities everywhere,’ Katz said. ‘There are, at some point, too many things going on, too many opportunities to stop them all.’
New York City’s police boss says that regularly includes sharpshooters with binoculars on rooftops scanning nearby building windows for potential threats, helicopters circling above with snipers of their own, and detectives making security sweeps of nearby hotels.
But he too acknowledged there is only so much that can be done.
‘We do understand,’ said NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill, ‘that no city or town in this country is completely immune to such unbridled hatred.’
Exactly. It’s sad, but it’s reality. That’s why I don’t understand the left’s pleas. There’s no law that will stop evil people from carrying out their evil acts. We can do our best to thoroughly screen people and look for red flags, but ultimately, banning a specific object won’t stop the problem.
I’d be lying if I said recent events haven’t freaked me out. I’ve been to Vegas once– with the Chicks– and I’ll admit it. I was nervous. When we went to shows, I imagined active shooter situations and tried to plan an exit strategy. When we were walking on the strip, I thought about where I would run if a driver started smacking a vehicle into pedestrians. I can be paranoid, but I never even THOUGHT about looking up. If I ever go back, I know it’ll be in the back of my mind.
Sometimes, I think, “Why bother going anywhere EVER. There’s so much evil.” Then I remember that this is what those scumbags want. They WANT us to live in fear.
Officers do their very best to keep us safe. Meanwhile, I pack heat when I can and ultimately trust that the Lord goes before me and follows me (Psalm 139: 5-12. It’s my go-to). That’s really all you can do in this messed up world.
