President Trump ‘Saddened’ By The Low-Rated Emmys

The Emmys bombed. Early reports indicated that it was the one of the lowest rated Emmys ever. Numbers slightly vary. Early reports suggested it garnered 9.6 million total viewers, but according to Nielsen, it took in 11.4 million viewers, which is about the same as last year’s viewership (11.3 million viewers).

Sunday’s Emmys took repeated aim at Trump, the former Celebrity Apprentice host and past nominee, and combined with facing a Green Bay Packers game on NBC’s Sunday Night Football again, the POTUS-bashing Emmys were knocked down to a new low – at least in the early numbers. Snagging a 8.2 in metered market ratings, last night’s three-hour-plus show fronted by Colbert tripped 2% from the 2016 show.

Either way, it’s bad for the Emmys and especially hilarious, because the show centered around bashing Trump. Speaking of Trump, talk about restraint! I was actually surprised he didn’t live tweet the Emmys. And I was even more surprised that he didn’t say a word about it the day after. But ah. Tuesday. Sweet, Tuesday. After Trump delivered a bold and courageous speech before the UN General Assembly, he found a minute to mock Hollywood.

I was saddened to see how bad the ratings were on the Emmys last night – the worst ever. Smartest people of them all are the “DEPLORABLES.”
