Here’s a hint, Europe – If some Middle Eastern dude wants to come into one of your countries and basically says “I’m here to be a terrorist!”, that’s a pretty good indication that you should NOT let the guy in. At the very least.
That should go without saying, but the European Union hasn’t exactly covered itself in glory regarding this issue.
According to this, authorities have released the name of the third attacker responsible for the London terrorist attacks on Saturday. The third lucky contestant is a Moroccan-Italian guy named Youssef Zaghba, 22 years old. Oh, and when he came back from a trip to Syria last year, he point-blank told Italian authorities that he was coming to Europe to be a terrorist –
He was reportedly stopped at Bologna airport last year with a one-way ticket to Istanbul, carrying just a backpack, a passport and a mobile phone with ISIS clips on it.
He told authorities: ‘I am going to be a terrorist,’ the Guardian reported today.
Italian authorities: “That’s nice, kid. Dream big. Enjoy the pasta while you’re here.”
Oh sure, the Italian authorities told Britain security officials about Zaghba – he was put on a “terror watch list.” For all the good that it did –
Authorities in Italy tipped off British authorities about Zaghba but he was apparently able to enter Britain and get a job in a London restaurant
An Italian intelligence source said that Zaghba had since been acquitted of terrorism charges but was on a ‘persons at risk’ list – similar to a UK ‘watch list’, according to Corriere Della Sera.
Reports in Italy suggest the 22-year-old had since got a ‘seasonal job’ in a London restaurant and continued to speak to his mother back home.
They should change the phrase to “See something, say something, and we’ll do absolutely nothing.”
Gee, I’m surprised they didn’t put the slimeball in a Channel 4 documentary about the jihadis in your neighborhood. WHAT THE CRAP ARE YOU SMOKING, BRITAIN??
I’m certain this is getting repetitive, but I am TIRED of this stupidity. After nearly every terrorist attack, it turns out that the terrorists were known to authorities as potentially posing a danger. They’re on some watch list or someone reported their suspicious behavior.
This has happened so often that the sane thing to do would be to look at every name on the terror watch list and send them back to whatever cave they crawled out of. Actually save lives before they’re in danger from these insane terrorists.
Oh, but I forgot – that’s profiling. That’s racist. That’s just rude. We’re not allowed to accuse terrorists of being terrorists EVEN WHEN THEY FLAT-OUT TELL US THAT’S WHAT THEY’RE HERE TO DO.
I’m growing more convinced that “terror watch list” actually means “Here, watch these people while they commit terrorism.”
And yet, these European countries and their leaders have the GALL to lecture the United States and President Trump about how MEEEEEEEAN the travel ban is. Well, gee – if you guys had a travel ban from certain countries, maybe y’all wouldn’t be mourning the deaths of dozens of innocent people every other week. Maybe we wouldn’t have to #PrayFor[InsertEuropeanCityHere] all the time. Maybe your citizens wouldn’t have to check with law enforcement before they leave their homes to make sure their neighborhood didn’t become a No-Go Zone while they weren’t looking.
The more we find out about these terrorists’ origins, the more intelligent the travel ban looks.
