Philly-Area Reporter Arrested After Going On Profanity-Laden Rant Against Police

The only thing that amuses me about this is that the reporter thought that by waving her press credentials around, she thought that would impress the police.

Yep. Journalists are THAT arrogant.

According to this, 28-year-old Colleen Campbell (who works at PHL 17, I’m sure her employers are happy to hear about this) was asked to leave when she became unruly and disruptive during a stand-up performance at a local comedy club. After she was kicked out she stayed outside the venue, still kicking up a fuss (according to this Facebook post from one of the comics at the club, it didn’t appear that she was intoxicated – she was just being rude). Police officers soon approached her and asked her to go home.

And that’s when the trouble really started, as you can see in this video. BE WARNED – Campbell uses all kinds of foul language here –

“I don’t spit on you, motherfucker. It’s an illusion,” she weirdly boasted.

“She tried to spit on me, but she just couldn’t pull it off,” the man said annoyed.

The officer then handcuffs Campbell for trying to spit on the man, which triggers her pleas to check the videotape. At that point, the man accompanying Campbell looks at the camera and someone offscreen can be heard saying “Thanks Wil,” likely referring to Sylvince who posted the footage, and probably recorded it as well.

Campbell continues her anti-law enforcement and expletive-laced rant.

“I work at a fucking news station, motherfucker. I work at PHL 17. Oh, you’re going to put that on the fucking news? You’re going to go (sic) that to NBC,” Campbell howled while leaning up against the wall, still bound. “Fucking bitch, I fucking hate you guys. Fucking hate the world. No wonder everyone wants to blow your fucking heads off,” she continued, likely addressing the police officer.

Yikes – what a hosehag. And what kind of idiot thinks that things will go better for them if they scream at police officers who are just trying to get the person to calm down?

(I’m not entirely convinced she wasn’t drunk. Then again, I wasn’t there.)

For the news channel’s part, they have removed her information from their website, though nothing official about her being fired has been made public. So, there’s that.

Next time lady, don’t go bragging about your press credentials to get out of an arrest. Just a thought
