Here’s A Tip: Joking About Assassinating The President On Twitter Isn’t The Best Decision You Could Make…

Heather Lowrey of Louisville, Kentucky only has herself to blame.

Last week, Heather – who is clearly NOT a fan of Donald Trump – tweeted this out in anticipation of the Trump’s impending inauguration –

Oh man… lady we REALLY need to work on your definition of “kindness.” Kindness doesn’t typically involve wishing death on another person. Not matter how much you hate them.

The good news is that, while she eventually deleted the tweet as well as her entire Twitter account, she was subsequently let go from her main employer, plus the burlesque performance group that she was part of. Oh, after the Secret Service was called, of course –

First off, the Secret Service interviewed Lowrey and opened an investigation on her, WAVE said.

“Any time threatening communications like that are made, we always conduct an investigation,” an agent told the Courier-Journal.

Here’s the statement from the Va Va Vixens, the popular burlesque group that Lowrey often performed with –

“Please, know that we, at Va Va Vixens, do not condone the behavior of Heather Lowrey,” the group’s statement read, according to WAVE. “She was dismissed the moment we were informed of this incident. We have a zero tolerance policy for such. It’s no secret that we are in the midst of a divided nation. With so much hate and anger in the world, our hope is to be a sanctuary that welcomes all walks of life with open arms. We do not condone hate by any party and will not partake in it. We in no way support negative behavior or malicious intent from anyone.”

Same with a few real estate-related companies she had previously been contracted with –

American Income Life — Travis Moody Office, Kentucky-Indiana didn’t take too kindly to Lowrey’s tweet, either, and posted this statement on Facebook:

Heather Lowrey is no longer contracted with the Travis Moody Agency. The Travis Moody Agency, its agents and its staff do not share the same views, nor opinions as Heather Lowrey. We have a zero tolerance policy and would never condone this behavior.

Same with the Elizabeth Monarch group, which is with Keller Williams Realty: “Heather Lowery is no longer employed at the Elizabeth Monarch Group. She has not worked at this company for over 10 months,” the statement read, WAVE reported. “The Elizabeth Monarch Group, its agents, and its staff do not share the same views.”

I never understood why anyone would wish death on any elected official – Republican, Democrat, or otherwise. I condemned it when people said the same thing about Obama. Any sane person would. You can disagree with their politics, but wishing they were dead? Really? What does that accomplish? You don’t think that assassinating the president would cause MASSIVE problems across the board?

America’s divided enough as it is. How much worse do you think it’d get if something assassinated the president?

(Then again, CNN put it forth as a theory and we weren’t supposed to get worked up about that. Apparently.)
