For all the left’s rush to make Barack Obama into President Jesus, reality is quite a bit different.
According to this, Obama actually had a WORSE approval rating on average than Richard Nixon and George W. Bush (not lower than Jimmy Carter, sadly – I guess Carter still gets that Worst President Ever trophy). Which is hilarious, given that Nixon resigned in disgrace and Obama spent nearly his entire presidency blaming all his problems on Dubya –
(I’m not surprised JFK tops this list. I suppose getting assassinated while only being in office for two years would do that. Maybe somebody should tell all those whiny leftists calling for Trump to be assassinated.)
So, in the end, Barack Obama was simply Just A Dude who was president. He didn’t do anything super-special. He didn’t end any wars or enact anything wonderfully positive for the American people (if anything, he made things WORSE).
His only accomplishment? His skin color. That’s it. That’s the story. He was elected president because of something about his biological makeup. And he knew how to give a good speech, without actually saying anything of substance.
Here’s what I’m afraid of (well, “afraid” is a strong term for it. Maybe “apprehensive” is a better descriptor) – When my kids start going to school and learning about history, they’re going to be taught that Barack Obama was basically the Second Coming and he healed the planet and calmed the storms and brought peace and justice and ended world hunger and gave everyone a purple unicorn.
When, in reality, he did none of those things. He was mediocre at best and destructive at worst. In terms of his accomplishments, he gets an asterisk by his name for being the First Black President and that is it. Without that footnote, he would fade into obscurity.
Which is really bad, when you think about it.
