The final– yes FINAL– presidential debate is tonight. It’s so close. We’re almost there. It’s almost over. Just kidding. It’ll never really be over. Either Donald Trump (holy crap) or Hillary Clinton (holy suck) will be president. We’ll never be in the clear.
Fox News’ Chris Wallace is moderating tonight’s debate in Las Vegas. The Commission on Presidential Debates has released the topics. Each will be discussed in a 15-minute time segment.
Debt and entitlements
Immigration
Economy
Supreme Court
Foreign hot spots
Fitness to be President
I don’t want to get too excited, but judging from the topics alone, it appears that the debate will be more substance based. If Chris Wallace sticks to the issues and Trump stays on target, he should be able to win this debate. When it comes to policy, Trump beats Hillary every time. Her economic policy is a disaster. She doesn’t plan to appoint Supreme Court Justices who respect the principles of the Constitution. And I would LOVE to hear her explain how she’s going to take care of the debt AND provide everyone with more free stuff. That’ll be quite the moment.
Trump has the policies. He needs to stay on topic and present his detailed plan on each of those topics to the American people. If he does it the right way, he’ll win. Hillary doesn’t have anything new to offer. It’s more of the same. A sluggish economy. Increased illegal immigration. More national debt.
If Trump plays this the right way, he can win this. And I’m not just talking about the debate.
