Blake Lively’s In Trouble With The Social Justice PC Police For No Good Reason

I’ve quit trying to understand people anymore. Why is this even a big deal? Because you’re mad no one is paying attention to you, so you have to throw a two-year-old temper tantrum? Okay, fine – here’s five seconds of my attention.

Here’s what happened – Blake Lively posted a couple Instagram pictures of herself on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. She’s several months pregnant with her second child, but she looks absolutely gorgeous. In this instance, she’s totally rocking this gold-sequined gown. But it’s not so much the picture that has people hacked off. It’s the caption –

If you don’t know your classic ’90s music, she’s quoting a lyric from Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.” It’s fun and it’s silly. And her husband, Ryan Reynolds, would probably agree that Blake is very attractive (and I can only pray I look that good when I’m pregnant).

But the social justice fun police got their collective Twitter panties in a bunch and started crying that Blake was appropriating black culture with her comment. Because white women aren’t allowed to quote song lyrics from black people and they DEFINITELY shouldn’t show off their physical assets to the world. You racist –

Not. Enough. Eyerolls.

Here’s a clue – Not everything has to be about race and social justice. Not everyone is out to make a commodity out of “women of color” (and please, explain to me how that phrase is any less racist than saying “colored women.” I’m still waiting) – if they were trying to at all. Grow a freaking sense of humor and stop playing this stupid victimhood card. You just look like an idiot. Nobody’s taking it seriously anymore.

And while we’re talking about how black people may or may not be commodified, maybe you wanna talk to Beyonce about her whole sweatshop operation. That’s a whole lot worse than Blake Lively taking a picture on the red carpet.
