October 19, 2015If not for the Internet, CNN’s ten viewers would have been the only ones to bask in the “WTFery” this caused.
If you didn’t see Saturday Night Live’s sketch mocking the Democratic Debate, you really should. Larry David, in particular, did a spot-on impression of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Deranged Socialist). At some point during “Bernie’s” ranting about how awesome socialism is, he made a quip about how he only has one pair of clean underwear and he dries his laundry on the radiator. It was hysterical (and then I realized that’s what Real!Bernie’s version of socialism would do to Americans and I sobbed).
Well, apparently that didn’t sit too well with the actual Bernie Sanders, because he sent a statement to CNN saying that he DOES own plenty of clean underpants. And CNN actually reported on it –

Because that’s what’s TRULY on the mind of the American voter when it comes to #FeelTheBern.
I would say we’ve reached the pinnacle of stupidity, but there’s still a year to go in the 2016 election. This is just the warm-up act.
