Oh, France. You poster-child for socialist moonbattery, you. According to this article, France basically wants to kill off the notion of "mothers" and "fathers" now, because you know – that wouldn't be politically correct enough for France.
They're so progressive, those forward-thinking French.
Legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage and give homosexual couples the right to adopt children would also replace the terms "mother" and "father" with "parent 1" and "parent 2" in all legal documents, including birth certificates.
Yeeeeeeeah. That should work out well.
Of course, the church is outraged, as are many folks on the non-socialist right, who are claiming that this is basically a slippery slope. If you take moms and dads out of the equation, then what? Next up, it'll be legislated that three people can marry one another? Or polygamy? Or incest? Where does it end?
The article went on to say that "over the past few decades, French officials increasingly have moved to secularize national law to rid it of any traces of religion. The movement often has led to heated confrontations between the church and state in the traditionally Catholic country."
With a new and improved socialist regime ruling the French, which touts a new 75% tax rate on the rich, I'm going to go on a limb here and assume that France maaaaaay have other things they should be worried about besides whether or not they want to continue calling parents "moms" and "dads." I mean, if you're bankrupt beyond recognition, then that dude in the bread line next to you probably isn't going to give a rat's hindside what you want to be called.
And don't even get me started on the poor kid who's confused out of his mind, trying to figure out what to tattoo on his chest. Instead of Mom in a heart, I suppose he's going to have "Thing 1" inked on him?
Gawd.
This is where we're headed, folks. France. LUNACY. Which is why November is crucial.
