…the pastor skips the whole, “If there is anyone here who can show just cause why this couple shouldn’t be married…” etc. etc., and instead says, “If there any Democrats here…” and then goes on to assume there are NOT, and is totally right.
THAT, my friends, is how the ceremony of our dear friends Big E and Agent J started out yesterday. And it only got better from there.
Thanks for your patience as Daisy and I have been taking part in wedding-oriented festivities over the past couple of days. Happily, Agent J is a woman of class and elegant taste, so we totally SCORED on the bridesmaid dress front:
Everything about the day was complete perfection – from the getting-ready-at-the-bride’s house complete with professional hair/make-up people, and the sunny day, and the sentimental and reverent ceremony – to the beautiful country club reception, exquisite meal, fantastic band, and sparkler-lit send off of the bride and groom at the end of the evening. I even managed to get through my toast without a) crying, b) stammering too much or c) saying something completely inappropriate (it helped that I read it from a piece of paper). I was extra proud of that only because this wedding was a Big Deal and there were all sorts of People Of Importance there like Congressmen and Important Business Owners and whatnot, who are really really good at speaking in public, whereas I get super nervous and kinda suck at it. So YAY! Success.
Anyway, we’ll be back to our normal posting routine shortly. Hope you’re having a great holiday weekend so far! A few more pictures from the weekend will be posted later today at my other site, if you’re interested.
