I have a confession to make: I have BEEF with my mail carrier.
I’ve never actually MET my mail carrier. I’m just angry at him/her.
Why? WEELLLLLL I OFTEN get mail for 3 DIFFERENT addresses. Like… all at once. THERE IS NO WAY MY MAILBOX COULD BE THE RIGHT MAILBOX FOR THREE DIFFERENT ADDRESSES ON THREE DIFFERENT STREETS.
I’ve had to do a couple of mail runs for the other two houses… which just so happen to be in different NEIGHBORHOODS. Like… not even CLOSE!
Once I had to go pick up a mattress from across town, because it was delivered to a completely different address with the same STREET NUMBER.
I’ve had a number of letters just go magically missing. And when I DO get my mail, my name is circled with a question mark through it. This, despite the fact I’ve called and gone in to my post office to confirm that I do, in fact, live here on MULTIPLE occasions.
I’m convinced my mail carrier is A) ACTUALLY illiterate or B) Really, REALLY lazy.
Things have gotten better… but only after I filed an official complaint. YEAH. I AM THAT PERSON. I EXPECT YOU TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT.
*DEEP BREATH*
Anyway. THIS delivery man had a pretty legit reason not to deliver a North Carolina woman’s mail. (I take my headline back. This isn’t the ONLY reason. I believe in natural disaster excuses, too.) Also YES – I KNOW USPS and UPS are different – but they do the SAME THING. They deliver stuff.
Marcy Lanier, from Asheville, NC was expecting a package. Instead, she found this:
AHAHAHA!
To those wondering how the person in question was able to leave a note, but not a package… I think I understand. My mailbox, for example, is small and on the neighborhood road. Packages, however, are delivered on my front porch. A bear could easily come between the two.
Only… we don’t HAVE bears.
SO GET IT TOGETHER, MY MAILMAN.
