New Passport, Who Dis? Online Passport Applications Are Coming in 2027

The passport application process is officially joining the 21st century—next year, that is. Gone will be the days of filling out forms and delivering them in person to some grouchy government employee. After some work done by everyone’s favorite Secretary of State, Americans will soon be able to apply entirely on the interwebs.

I have a one-word response to this news: FINALLY.
It’s about time the government made dealing with them slightly less annoying in some capacity. Sure, our tax system is still a complete nightmare, but hey, no more drugstore mugshots for your passport!
Don’t get me wrong, this update is a major step in the right direction. Let’s just pick up the pace of the steps though, shall we?
