This is seriously one of the funniest threads you might ever read about climate activists. Fifteen climate activists occupied the Autostadt Porsche showroom, nine of whom glued their hands to the floor. They were demanding that the Volkswagen CEO agree to certain conditions to “decarbonize the German transport sector.” Their demands were, “1) support introduction of speed limits on German motorways; 2) condone bonds held by VW from Global South; 3) declare infeasibility of 1.5 goal.”
Right off the bat, they let you know that they’re stupid by posting a photo of themselves glued to the floor with the hilarious caption, “VW told us that they supported our right to protest, but they refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued, and have turned off the heating.”
.@VW told us that they supported our right to protest, but they refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued, and have turned off the heating. People in support can't get out of the building. 2/ pic.twitter.com/YZuuiww5Q4

Just a clarification: people in support can get out of the building but then they couldn't get back in. We can't order our food, we must use the one provided by Wolkswagen. Lights off. Random unannounced checks by security guards with bright torches. Police just came in.3/

HAHAHA!!! They seriously “requested” that VW, the company that they’re protesting, PROVIDE THEM WITH BOWLS IN WHICH TO PEE AND POOP DURING THEIR PROTEST OF VW?! Honey, that’s just poor planning on your part. Y’all should have brought a bucket or bowl of your own because you’re in no position to be making ANY “requests.” Why would you glue yourselves to the floor and then expect the company you’re protesting to provide you with conveniences?! Supporting your right to protest doesn’t mean they have to help make your protest more comfortable. In fact, I’m impressed that they’re letting you protest in their showroom, which I would think is private property.
AND… they’re complaining that VW turned off the lights and the heating in the building during the protest. HAHAHA!!! They’re climate protesters, but you’d better believe they want those fossil fuels burning all night to heat that building and keep it lit so they can be comfortable while they protest the climate damage of fossil fuels! Again, them supporting your right to protest doesn’t mean they have to make you more comfortable while you do it.
AAAAND, they’re complaining that they can’t “order our food.” Are they seriously Door Dashing food to themselves while glued to the VW showroom floor? For real? Some of them were on a hunger strike, so I’m not sure why the others couldn’t just fast for the day. Radical woke activists are often some of the most entitled people you’ll ever meet. They think you should not only accommodate their demands, but make everything easier for them. And these people are no different. They’re protesting VW but expect VW to provide them with poop bowls, keep the lights and heat on for comfort, and let them order food to the showroom floor? That is some serious entitlement.
After 24 hours of being glued to the floor, the man who was apparently the face of the protest gets a swollen hand. To be honest, the picture he posted wasn’t all that impressive to me, but then again, I’ve been pregnant 4 times. I guess he also demanded that a doctor be allowed in to check on him, which he says VW initially refused but eventually allowed. Again, VW is definitely the bigger person in this scenario. I don’t know that I’d have let a doctor in to assess the protester. If the protester wants to see a doctor, then they can leave and see a doctor, but it’s not on VW to make that happen. Hilariously, the doctor supposedly “ascertained the possibility of life-threatening blood clots in my hand and recommended an immediate transfer to a hospital. My health is of course paramount. I accepted to leave this wonderful group and was taken to hospital, continuing my hunger strike.”

Riiiiight. Considering that there’s pretty much always the possibility (no matter how slight) of life-threatening blood clots in someone’s hand, I’m not all that impressed with this excuse. Seems more like a really convenient medical excuse to not have to be glued to the floor of the showroom anymore, if you ask me.
These people are lucky they didn’t try this in France. Here’s what they did to protesters there.
Sorry, that doesn't work. French police swiftly remove Green activists who had glued themselves to the pavement in Paris 😆 pic.twitter.com/dlGisQcbCP

A friend once told me about a flight he took to London, in First Class. He said four of the First Class seats were occupied by people who identified themselves as Environmentalists because they couldn’t stop talking about their plans to protest at the HQ of British Petroleum.
They never saw the irony of flying First Class in a big jetliner that burns fossil fuels with plans to protest at a company that turns fossils into fuels. The term “eco-hypocrite” comes to mind.
Turn the cars on, seal the doors, and the problem is solved in a few hours.
Oh, that’s rich Mike! I’m just sad that I didn’t think of it first!
