Demi Lovato Is A She Again, In Case You Were Wondering

Demi Lovato changed her pronouns. Again. And Washington Post writers have their legs hairs tingling over it.
How Demi Lovato’s she/they pronouns can help normalize gender fluidity – The Washington Post https://t.co/nAOo8oNseD

First of all, nearly everything I know about Demi Lovato’s gender I have absolutely learned against my will. I use to smile at the mention of her name when she was on Barney as a little pudding person, but I quickly got over it. I don’t care. But her latest announcement is all over the news and social media. They want us to pay attention, they want us to care. Mmm’kay! I triiiied not to, but they insisted.
So here is what I think: this newest change is further evidence that the first change was BS to begin with. I knew it then and I know it now.
“I’m just a really fluid person. . .” Demi they/womansplains.
*Insert eye roll here*
People aren’t really fluid. An example of a fluid, as I learned in middle school science, would be a substance capable of flowing like a liquid or a gas, something that assumes the shape of the container it’s in. “A substance that changes its shape at a steady rate when acted upon by a force tending to change its shape.” Well, that part of the definition almost fits. And the “force” behind the change is societal pressure.
If Demi wants to assure us that she’s fluid, then at the very least we could deduce that she’s definitely female, because that’s the shape of the container she’s in. . . But you know we’re not working with logic here.
Demi Lovato, who once deleted her Twitter after receiving backlash from memes she posted about a British rapper, has struggled with addiction, self-harm, and eating disorders nearly her entire life. At 29 years old, Demi has had numerous stints in rehab; she tried cocaine for the first time when she was 17, and she suffered a drug overdose in 2018. Demi is not fluid, Demi is struggling.
How I feel about her pronoun usage is the same way I feel about anyone who decides to change their pronouns yearly: I wish they had people around them who recognized and cared enough about their hardships to help them identify the root cause. “Life is hard as a woman, I want to be a man.” Guess what? Men have a lot of the same problems. You’re moving sideways across the ladder and you didn’t go anywhere. “Life is hard as a man, I want to be a woman.” Well now life is still hard, and apparently you’re oppressed and have to take hormones to give you stomach cramps so you can have sympathy periods. This is not winning.
Newsflash, sometimes girls like to climb trees and play in the dirt. They wear hoodies every day and don’t wear any makeup, but still grow up to be old-fashioned Southern Belles who wear heels and sundresses regardless of weather (if you’re not wearing dresses for every occasion then please jump on this train, it’s glorious!). Sometimes boys play with Barbies simply because their older sister plays with Barbies and not because they want to be castrated. Life really can be that simple.
Demi now uses both she and they pronouns. So this article can’t be reported for hate speech, no matter who gets triggered by it. Suck it. The liberal media wants us to believe that this recent change both clarifies and reinforces nonbinary lifestyles, but nah, buddy. That ain’t it. Demi, who suffered multiple strokes and brain damage, still has blind spots in her vision and had trouble reading for years when recovering from her overdose. Can we not get her some friends or acquaintances who just want to see her focus on healing and getting to a good place instead of taking elaborate public steps to constantly redefine her gender identity and seek attention for doing literally nothing? Like, thanks for letting us know I guess, but rational people are just like. . . meh.
Don’t take my word for it. Listen to Blaire White calling Demi out MONTHS ago.

Actresses and actors have been at it for so long, they often aren’t sure who they are. Isn’t it enough that they’re completely out of touch with the real world.
I’ve never understood why anyone would want to praise or emulate a celebrity who (in a psychological sense) is a few fries and a toy short of a Happy Meal.
Celebrities are LAST on my list of who to emulate. That chimp that went crazy and bit that woman’s fingers off ranks higher.
“People aren’t really fluid.”
I beg to differ. I have been married for over thirty years, with two daughters and seven of the twelve grandkids being of the female persuasion. I think they call it bipolar, which as a husband, father and grandfather – i,e, male, seems to hit you right between the eyes when you least expect it.
Yes, dear, I will be sleeping on the coach on my stomach again.
I forgot to tell you all my go to phrases in such situations:
That is not what I said! That is not what I meant! If I meant to say that, I would have said that! Leave me alone!
If those fail, I then start the next phase of husband survival techniques:
I refuse to argue with you! You are so pretty. You have the most gorgeous blue eyes. You look so sexy when you are mad – why don’t you come upstairs with me there is something I want to show you. This last one never works and seems to most of the time just fuel the fire – but I am a guy and I have to try.
I will just grab my stuff and again sleep on the coach on my stomach.
Last but not least, “please don’t beat me.”
That’s a lot of estrogen Kurt. I’ll pray for you!
On another note, I don’t know how that happens, I can’t imagine telling my husband he’s sleeping on the couch instead of in his bed. Perhaps I just don’t have the personality to pull it off but also, if he sleeps on the couch, where will I tuck my cold feet?
