Norm McDonald Has A Final Standup Special That Just Came Out, And I’m Here For It…

I know, I know – this isn’t about Nancy Pelosi’s husband driving like a drunk lunatic.  But y’all – Norm McDonald has a final hour-long standup special coming out, and in light of everything that’s happening in the world, I gotta tell ya – it’s a refreshing breath of fresh air in an otherwise smoky room full of ick.  It’s titled “Norm McDonald: Nothing Special,” and it apparently came out yesterday (May 30th), and I have to see it.

They say that nothing is off limits in the special – he jokes about his own death and mortality.

He also joked about being a Christian and his fears he “picked the wrong religion,” Daily Beast reported, and imagined the afterlife. “Ahh, it’s you! I thought it was the other fella. I should have been slaying apostates the entire time. Ah well, what are you gonna do?”

In the opening credits, Netflix writes:

“We are honored to bring you Norm Macdonald’s last special, followed by reactions and commentary from a few of his special friends,” and includes appearances from David Letterman, Dave Chappelle, Molly Shannon, Conan O’Brien, Adam Sandler and David Spade.

The special shows Macdonald, who died in 2021 after a private nine-year battle with leukemia, wearing a baseball cap and headphones and talking into a mike, pandemic Zoom style, in a nondescript room where dogs can be heard barking.

So this and Top Gun, y’all.  It’s as if GenX’ers are getting an extra-special gift this week from the Big Man upstairs.
