Biden Campaign Pushes For One Break Every Thirty Mins During Debates, Trump Campaign Responds, ‘Our Guy Doesn’t Need Breaks’ [Opinion]

The first debate of the 2020 presidential election is fast approaching, with just under 11 hours remaining! You can bet I’ll be knuckle-deep in some popcorn. Also, I’ll be drinking every time Biden says “C’mon, man!” In such case, I feel like I’m going to need IV fluids tomorrow.

Believe it or not, the Biden campaign is requesting that Sleepy Joe receives two breaks every 60-minutes during the debates, resulting in one break every 30-minutes, which was denied. I know his “lids” are synonymous for naps at this point, but it’s getting ridiculous.

I could be wrong, but isn’t the debate only 90 minutes long?

Sorry not sorry, but if someone can hardly handle enduring 30-minute blocks of basic debate (the bare minimum requirement of the election process) then that’s not someone I want facing the more pressing issues of our country. After all, the debates are essentially an interview for the most powerful and influential position in the country.

President Trump has consented to having both candidates inspected for use of electronic devices and/or transmitters. As of now, the Biden team has not consented.

There was an initial typo in the above tweet, so here’s a follow-up tweet with the correction:

Fox News reported:

A Trump campaign source told Fox News that “our guy doesn’t need breaks. He gives 90-minute speeches all the time.”

And the source says that the negotiations are still on-going for Tuesday’s night’s debate — as well as the remaining two showdowns between Biden and Trump.

Fox News is reaching out to the Commission on Presidential debates – the bipartisan organization that for more than three decades has organized and produced the debates – for a response to the requests from the two campaigns.

The debate – the first of three between Biden and Trump — kicks off at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday and is being hosted by Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The showdown’s being moderated by “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.

I guess we’ll just have to see if Biden takes long pauses after questions, as he frantically searches for a teleprompter.
